As the IMSA VP Racing SportsCar Challenge season rolls into its second stop, Conquest Racing with Ferrari is ready to take on the iconic Circuit of The Americas (COTA) from February 28 to March 1. Coming off a great start in Daytona, drivers Dave Musial and Dave Musial Jr. are thrilled to be racing in Austin, Texas, piloting the #99 and #20 Ferrari 296 GT3 cars in the competitive GTDX class.

Dave Musial made a statement during the season opener in Daytona, capturing a Bronze win on debut. Now, with his sights firmly set on another podium, Musial is embracing the challenge that COTA presents.

They are heading into the upcoming event with additional confidence following a successful few days of testing that were conducted at the track prior to the event, providing the drivers with further knowledge and experience. In preparation for the upcoming rounds, Dave Musial and Dave Musial Jr. were able to familiarize themselves with the layout of the Austin-based circuit, as well as get more acquainted with their machinery, and will be utilizing this insight in their pursuit of strong results.

Dave Musial has a strong track record at COTA, including a podium finish in the 2024 Ferrari Challenge. Dave Musial Jr. also delivered impressive performances last year, securing Top 5 finishes in both races.

“I’m thrilled to be heading to Circuit of The Americas for the upcoming race,” he said. “The track’s combination of fast straights and tight corners offers a unique challenge that I’m eager to tackle. After securing my first win with the new Ferrari 296 GT3 at Daytona, I’m feeling confident in the car’s performance and handling. The team at Conquest Racing has done an exceptional job with the setup, making my transition to this new platform seamless. As we continue to learn and adapt throughout our first season in GT3 racing, I’m optimistic about achieving more strong results.”

Musial isn’t the only one excited to race in Texas. Dave Musial Jr. shares his enthusiasm for this venue, known for its challenging layout and dramatic elevation changes. “I’m really excited about the upcoming race at Circuit of The Americas,” said Musial Jr. “The atmosphere is always amazing, COTA is one of my favorite tracks, and I’m looking forward to taking on its high-speed straights and technical corners.”

For Musial Jr., the weekend is also about growth and pushing personal limits. “Getting more seat time behind the wheel of the 296 GT3 is a big highlight for me,” he added. “It’s an amazing car, and I’m eager to push my limits and improve my skills on this challenging track. Overall, the event promises to be a fantastic experience, and I’m especially excited to be with Conquest Racing. It’s always a good time with them, and I can’t wait to make some great memories.”

The weekend at COTA promises a packed schedule, with two practice sessions kicking off the action on Friday, February 28 at 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM CT. Qualifying follows later in the day at 6:30 PM. Fans can look forward to an action-packed Saturday featuring a doubleheader, with both 45-minute races slated for 8:40 AM and 5:00 PM.
