Conquest Racing with Ferrari are further expanding their IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship efforts for the upcoming round at Road America, as the team will be running dual entries in the GTD and GTD Pro classes. Full season GTD teammates Manny Franco and Albert Costa Balboa will be fielding the #34 Corsa Horizon Ferrari 296 GT3, while Daniel Serra is set to make his return to the GTD Pro lineup alongside Giacomo Altoè in the #35 Corsa Horizon Ferrari 296 GT3.

The team currently sits fourth in the GTD class standings with a total of 1,508 points and will be looking to further capitalize at a track they are highly familiar with. The National Park of Speed serves as Franco’s home track, and he and the team have seen a great deal of success there, having earned last year their first wins together for the Ferrari 296 GT3 on North American soil.

As the latest addition to Conquest Racing’s driver lineup, Giacomo Altoè comes with an impressive resume with a great deal of experience competing in various international sportscar championships. Notably, he is already extremely familiar with the Ferrari 296 GT3, competing in GT World Challenge Europe, as well as Ferrari Challenge Europe, where he is currently leading the Trofeo Pirelli championship.

“I’m more than ready for this challenge because it has always been one of my goals to compete in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship,” said Altoè. “I can’t wait to be back racing in the United States, especially with a top team like Conquest Racing and an experienced driver such as Daniel Serra. I’m very much looking forward to it!”

Serra, who previously competed with Conquest Racing in the Detroit Grand Prix, echoed Giacomo’s excitement by saying, “I’m excited to be back with Conquest in IMSA. I’ve only been to Road America once, but it’s definitely one of my favorite tracks! It will be my first time sharing the car with Giacomo Altoè, and I believe we can do a great job together.”

“I’m really looking forward to returning to my home track,” said Milwaukee native Manny Franco. “Road America is such a special place, and it would mean a lot to both myself and the team if we were to get a good result here. We’re still in a strong position in the GTD championship standings, and we’ll be doing everything we can to work hard and fight for more points.”

“The double entry this weekend will bring a new dynamic to the team and we’ll have extra information to share in between all of us so that will be a good benefit added Albert Costa Balboa. “Everyone always talks about how Road America is a difficult track, and that motivates me even more to do my best and secure a strong finish in the race.”
