Conquest Racing w/ Ferrari will be making their way to Road America for the fifth round of the 2023 Fanatec GT World Challenge Championship after nearly one month between rounds. The team landed just shy of the podium in the previous races at VIRginia International Raceway, but the 4.048 mile, 14-turn high speed circuit will serve as the perfect setting for the team to bounce back and claim some more hardware.
Manny Franco and Alessandro Balzan will be co-driving the #21 Corsa Horizon Ferrari 296 GT3 in the Pro Class once again, and will be looking to take the National Park of Speed by storm. As the team enters the final rounds of the championship season, their focus remains strong as they prepare to battle for more podium finishes.
“We’ve had our fair share of obstacles to overcome so far this season, but we’re ready to tackle Road America in full force,” stated Alessandro Balzan. “Everyone has been working so hard to get us back where we belong, and I’m confident that we will be able to deliver the results that we’ve been looking for. We’ve completed some great test days recently, and I cannot wait to get back behind the wheel with Manny. There’s a huge potential for greatness at this circuit, and we’ll be doing everything we can to secure another podium for Conquest Racing and Corsa Horizon.”
“I’m more than ready to get back to racing,” added Manny Franco. “The fact that we were able to compete in the previous round was already an accomplishment in itself, but we’re ready to be fighting for the top spot again and we’re fully committed to making that happen. Alessandro and I won’t be satisfied until we’re back to challenging for wins, and I believe Road America is the perfect place to make that a reality.”
The team will return to the track for two practice sessions on Friday, August 18th, at 10:00 AM and 3:15 PM CT. The qualifying sessions will take place on Saturday, August 19th at 9:05 AM CT, followed by Race 1 that same day at 3:10 PM CT. The GT World Challenge America grid will wrap up the weekend’s action with Race 2 on Sunday, August 20th at 2:15 PM CT. Both races will be broadcast live on GT World’s YouTube channel.
