Although the action was cut short last time out at NOLA Motorsports Park due to inclement weather, Conquest Racing is ready to return to the track with a vengeance and reclaim the top step on the podium. The GT4 America Championship is heading to the Lone Star State, with Circuit of the Americas serving as the host of the third round of the season. Michai Stephens and Jesse Webb just narrowly missed out of the win in NOLA, and will be getting back behind the wheel of the #34 JMF Motorsports | Farrow Mercedes-AMG GT4 to saddle up for a Texas rodeo.
The team recently completed two full days of testing at the circuit just over a week prior, giving the drivers valuable track time following its one-year absence from the GT4 America calendar. This will also be both Stephens and Webb’s first time racing around the Austin track together, a challenge they are both greatly looking forward to. The 2.3 mile, 19-turn layout features a mix of high speed straightaways, sweeping chicanes, tight corners, and a notoriously rough track surface that adds an extra touch of unpredictability.
“NOLA proved to be quite the rollercoaster of emotions,” said Michai Stephens. “We had moments of hope and elation, followed by pain and disappointment after missing out on the win by such a small margin. In the end, the team took it on the chin and we are looking forward to pushing deeper into our drive for success. The pieces of the puzzle are continuing to come together as the layers of competition stack higher and higher. With COTA just moments away, it’s time we strap in for the rodeo and get ready to ride!”
“I am really excited to be racing at COTA with JMF Motorsports and Conquest Racing,” echoed Jesse Webb. “It is a super technical track and I absolutely love the flow of the circuit. COTA has a lot of character and it is awesome to have the opportunity to be running at such a highly ranked track in North America! I’m looking forward to hitting the track later this week.”
The forecast for the week shows nothing but clear skies and rising temperatures on the horizon, a far cry from the weather in Louisiana last time out. However, anything can happen in the south, and the team will be prepared for anything that the Texas climate has to offer.
The third round of the season will commence on Saturday, May 20th, at 5:00 PM CT, with Race 2 following on Sunday, May 21st, at 10:50 AM CT. Both races will be broadcast live on GT World’s YouTube channel.
