Conquest Racing With Ferrari is proud to announce its entry into the IMSA VP Racing SportsCar Challenge championship for the 2025 season. The team will field two entries, with an exceptional driver lineup featuring the dynamic father-son duo of Dave Musial and Dave Musial Jr., who will be participating in select events in the #99 and #20 Ferrari 296 GT3, respectively.
This marks an exciting new chapter for the team, further emphasizing their long-standing partnership with Ferrari as the drivers continue their progression through the ranks. The IMSA VP Racing SportsCar Challenge has grown in prominence over the years, serving as a proving ground for drivers and teams with an intensive multi-class sprint race format.
Both drivers have seen a great deal of prior success while competing in the Ferrari Challenge North America series, with several years of experience under their belts. In 2024, Dave Musial Jr. stood on the podium on four different occasions in the Trofeo Pirelli class, while Dave Musial accomplished the same feat seven times in Trofeo Pirelli-AM, including two wins at the team’s home track – Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Both of them finished in the top 5 in their respective championship categories.
“What excites me the most is the opportunity to race alongside my son,” said Dave Musial. “ It’s an incredible opportunity to share the track and this journey together. Additionally, the prestige and competitiveness of the IMSA series—undoubtedly the best motorsport sanctioning body—combined with the amazing schedule make this a truly thrilling chapter for us.”
“I have spent the past 9 years racing in the Ferrari Challenge and have also competed in the Porsche GT3 Sprint Cup,” he continued. “These experiences have been instrumental in honing my skills, building my racecraft, and preparing me for this next challenge. Each year has brought valuable lessons that I’ll carry forward into this season. Our main goal is always to win a championship while practicing clean and competitive racing. We know this first year will involve a significant learning curve, but we’re approaching it with 110% effort, determination, and passion. Racing is what we love, and there’s nothing we enjoy more than being on track. We’re here to compete, to learn, and ultimately, to win.”
Dave Musial Jr. echoed his father’s sentiments; “This is my first year competing in multi-class racing, and I’m looking forward to the challenge and high level of competition it brings. I see this as an important stepping stone as I prepare for endurance racing, with my ultimate goal being to compete in the Rolex 24. I’m also excited about the tracks we’ll be racing and being able to share this experience and go racing alongside my dad.”
“I have four years of experience in the Ferrari Challenge and one year in the Porsche Sprint Cup,” he added. “I’ve been fortunate to race Ferraris in three different countries and compete against a wide range of talented drivers. The experience I’ve gained on diverse tracks and against strong competition has been invaluable, and I believe it will translate into success as I step into the VP Racing SportsCar Challenge series. My primary goal is to win a championship and as many races as possible, all while improving my skills in multi-class racing. I’m taking this very seriously by training heavily in the off-season—focusing on physical fitness, studying every track in detail, working on the simulator, and analyzing video footage to prepare. I plan to maximize every opportunity to ensure I’m ready to perform at my best.”
The first event of the upcoming season will be held at Daytona International Speedway during the week of the Roar Before the 24, spanning from January 17th to 19th, 2025.
