Conquest Racing is heading to the iconic WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca this upcoming weekend, as the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship continues with the fourth round of the 2025 season. The #34 Corsa Horizon Ferrari 296 GT3, piloted by Manny Franco and Ferrari factory driver Daniel Serra, will take on the 2.238-mile, 11-turn road course in pursuit of a strong result in the highly competitive GTD class.
After a challenging outing last time out on the streets of Long Beach, where the team was forced to retire from the race, Conquest Racing has reset and refocused ahead of the 2-hour and 40-minute Monterey SportsCar Championship sprint race. Despite the setback, the team remains focused on the championship fight.
Providing an added boost of confidence heading into the event, the Indianapolis-based outfit recently completed a successful test at Laguna Seca a couple of weeks prior. The outing allowed the team to fine-tune the setup of the Ferrari 296 GT3 and gather valuable data ahead of the demanding and highly physical race. The test proved productive, logging extensive laps and building familiarity with the track’s strenuous and evolving conditions.
The team sees Laguna Seca as a prime opportunity to gain ground in the standings and bounce back from Long Beach. Known for its dramatic elevation changes and the famous Corkscrew corner, both drivers are eager to capitalize on the momentum built during testing and showcase the strengths of the Ferrari platform.
“Long Beach was a tough weekend for us, but we’ve put that behind us and are fully focused on Laguna Seca,” said Manny Franco. “The test went really well, and I feel confident in the car and the package we have. It’s a track I really enjoy driving, and I’m looking forward to seeing what we can do this weekend.”
“The test was a great opportunity to work through different setups and get a good read on tire behavior at this track,” explained Daniel Serra. “The car felt strong, and I think we’ll be in a good position heading into the race weekend. The team has done a great job preparing, and we’re aiming to come away with a solid result.”
The weekend kicks off on Friday, May 9th, with Practice 1 scheduled for 2:20 PM PT. Action resumes on Saturday, May 10th, with Practice 2 at 9:55 AM PT, followed by Qualifying later that afternoon at 3:15 PM. The marquee event, the 2-hour and 40-minute Monterey SportsCar Championship, gets underway on Sunday, May 11th, with the green flag set to wave at 12:10 PM PT.
