Following their podium finish in the previous round of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, Conquest Racing with Ferrari now sit third in the GTD class standings coming into the next race at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park. Manny Franco and Albert Costa Balboa will once again be equipped with the #34 Corsa Horizon Ferrari 296 GT3 as the full-season teammates take on the Bowmanville-based track for the first time.
The team is highly motivated and determined to carry their strong form into the second half of the season, with the 2.459 mile, 10-turn track serving as a prime opportunity to capitalize and achieve further success. They currently hold a total of 1,290 points, and remain within reach of the teams ahead.
Quotes from the drivers:
Manny Franco: “It was great to be back on the podium and showcase the pace and performance that we know this team is capable of. We’ve been working hard throughout each and every round, and we’re focused on earning more top results. I’m looking forward to racing at CTMP, it will be my first time competing there and it’s a track I’ve been eagerly waiting for. It’s a high-speed and very technical circuit, and there’s always a lot of excitement, so I think we’ll be in a good position to challenge for another podium.”
Albert Costa Balboa: “This is a new track for me, so I’ve been spending a lot of time on the simulator in order to be well prepared. I’ve heard that this is a difficult circuit, but I’m looking forward to experiencing it first hand. We are very motivated following our podium at Watkins Glen, and as a team we’re going to keep working just as hard as we have been in order to see continued success. I definitely think we can make another appearance in the Top 5, and a podium would be even better.”
